Rychta and Mirror Hall

Rychta: Built in 1699, it was intended to serve as a granary for storing natural taxes (e.g., grain collected from peasants throughout the village). In reality, it became an “iron reserve” and a supply for the entire village during years of crop failure. Rychta underwent renovations in the 19th and 20th centuries, preserving the structure and partially the mill equipment. It was restored in the 21st century and made accessible to the public in 2011. The interiors are adorned with period rural items. Rychta is a significant cultural monument and, apart from the gallery, mirror maze, door maze, and other attractions, it offers an amazing glimpse into history.

Mirror Hall: In 2017, the Mirror Maze was opened at Rychta – initially with 35 mirrors, and now there are a total of 64 (for comparison, the Petřín Maze has 36 mirrors). It’s a big attraction for children and offers entertainment for tens of minutes – for voluntary admission, you can spend as much time as you like in the maze!

You can enter the maze by opening a coat closet and passing through the coats into the realm of mirrors. After a moment of darkness, a world of interconnected mirrors unfolds. There’s only one way out, and it’s not easy to find.
