History of Úvalno

There are no preserved records about the origin of the village; however, the first written mention of the village dates back to the municipal chronicle of 1238, where we can read about the Slavic village of Chvalno. Slavic settlement in the eighth to ninth centuries in the vicinity of the village is evidenced by findings of pottery around three settlement objects, one of which is considered to be a furnace. Pottery from the eleventh to thirteenth centuries has also been found in several places in the cadastral area. According to the municipal chronicle, there was a settlement here from the younger Bronze Age and Iron Age. In 2018, Úvalno was awarded the title of a municipality in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
